Description | In-depth study and applications of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations using matrices. Additional topics such as sequences, series, probability, and conics may be included. | ||||||||||

Learning Outcomes |
Upon successful completion of this course, students will: 1. Define, represent and perform operations on real and complex numbers. 2. Recognize, understand, and analyze features of a function. 3. Recognize, and use algebraic (field) properties, concepts, procedures (including factoring), and algorithms to combine, transform, and evaluate absolute value, polynomial, radical and rational expressions. 4. Identify and solve absolute value, polynomial, radical and rational equations. 5. Identify and solve absolute value and linear inequalities. 6. Model, interpret and justify mathematical ideas and concepts using multiple representations. 7. Connect and use multiple strands of mathematics in situations and problems, as well as in the study of other disciplines. |

Determination of Final Grade |
Your DMTH 0314 final grade will be determined solely by your weekly posts and and participation in the Weekly Discussions. Each week you must post at least ONE question or comment. There are no finals, test, or quizzes in this class. It is mean only to support your success in you main class. So it is imperative that you submit your post weekly and participate in discussions. You must have a total of at least 10 points for you weekly posts to receive a Pass (Satisfactory). Any total less than than 10 points for your weekly posts will receive a Fail (Unsatisfactory). DMTH 0314 is based on Pass (Satisfactory-SD or Fail (Unsatisfactory). Traditional letter grades will not be assigned. |
